THE BRIEF:


Create a counter-culture campaign and organisation aimed to deconstruct the normalisation of gambling within Australian culture.

THE SOLUTION:


The gambling industry has become so ingrained in Australian culture that it’s become this representation of mateship and that not engaging in gambling was ‘unAustralian’.

This representation of mateship is heavily contrasted with how isolating gambling can become due to this normalisation. The formation of these habits begins in social or group settings, which are strengthened through small wins, constant advertising and oversaturation in recreational facilities.

Bet on Change aims to deconstruct and shift this perspective by involving participants in an interactive branded experience — showcasing the destructive behaviours that can lead to problem gambling, it’s effect on individuals and communities and encourage people to seek help early.
